Original caption: Shea Stadium is jam-packed with Beatles fans during a performance given by the British singing group at Shea Stadium. Enthusiastic fans of the modern day Pied Pipers began arriving early for the concert carrying signs and banners heralding their heroes.
It’s sort of sad that so many of the venues they played don’t exist anymore. My parents used to live right by Shea in the mid-70s and they could hear the crowds from baseball games and concerts. Now it’s a parking garage.
